Throughout the years I have often found myself with mixed emotions at the end of a client’s wedding. My couple successfully got married! Best night of their life! Best wedding ever! That’s pretty much what I live for. But then…I would see the amount of waste generated that evening and feel a pit in my stomach. I decided to listen to that gut feeling and do what I can to change the amount of waste generated by the weddings I produce. I am proud to share that clients who sign my contract will also be agreeing to the following terms. <3 Sam
Glassware, Silverware, and Dining Ware
Clients agree that no single-use disposable plastic dining ware will be used for their food and beverage service. This means glassware for the bar instead of plastic, and either china and silverware for food or a compostable alternative. (There are some really nice looking bamboo options!). Let’s cut the plastic straws while we are it, too.
Party Favors
Just say “no” to glowsticks, foam light sticks, and any and all disposable party props. Your guests won’t miss them, I promise.
Florals
We will request that floral designers use alternatives to floral foam, and work with them to choose designs that do not require it. When possible, we will work with florists who source locally grown flowers.
