Rob and Jessica's Wedding at the Cabildo in New Orleans

Rob and Jessica’s wedding was held on June 1, 2019 at the Cabildo in New Orleans. The Cabildo is the next door neighbor to the iconic St. Louis Cathedral, and is part of the Louisiana State Museum. As a museum it presents a unique scenario for receptions - the exhibits sometimes change within the course of the planning process which can also change the layout of the space. This is the ideal venue who really appreciate the museum aspect of the venue - it may not be 100% predictable, but it adds something to your guests’ experience that other venues do not.

Jessica got ready with her bridal party at Hotel Provincial (they have a condo suite that has a full size refrigerator - so convenient for storing all that champagne and OJ). Riley was set to be one of the flower girls for the ceremony, but she was amazing to have around during prep. She helped Jessica with her shoes, calmed her nerves, and even gave her a twirling lesson. Rob left from The Pontchartrain, where he got ready with the guys, to do their first look and some quick portraits in the garden at the Beauregard Keyes house. From there we hopped in an Uber to head to the ceremony.

The second floor of the Cabildo was perfectly suited for Rob and Jessica’s clean and classic style, and Rob is British so the flags on the wall were a nice touch for the international crowd! They were married under the Chuppah in a beautiful ceremony that incorporated their friends, family, and religious traditions. After, while guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the first floor, they took more wedding portraits on the cupola - you don’t get those views of New Orleans just anywhere! Then everyone headed to the third floor for eating and to dance the night away. The suspended exhibit that you see was actually only installed a few weeks before the wedding. We adjusted the floorplan and I ended up loving what it added to the space.

At the end of the reception, Kinfolk Brass Band joined everyone on the third floor to start the second line, Dancing Man 504 was there to give the out of town guests a quick lesson on how we get down for our parades. I had so much fun planning this wedding with Rob and Jess. They were always looking out to make sure that their other half was happy with every detail., which was really sweet to see. I know they have a loving marriage ahead of them and I am so grateful I could be a part of their wedding celebration.
